Earnest Coney Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 7, 2016. He was born to the parentage of Sam and Anner Lou Coney on March 6, 1936 in Dublin, Georgia.

Earnest was self employed and the owner of Coney Trucking. He joined Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ under the pastoralship of the late Superintendent Clarence Brown. Earnest joined Essie Jean Johnson in Holy Matrimony on October 5, 1959. He loved fishing and enjoyed listening to Willie Neal Johnson and the Gospel Keynotes.
