Desja Chimar Moore was born on September 17, 1996, to the late Voncie Lee Moore Jr. and Tomika Mitchell. From the very beginning, she was surrounded by love, nurtured deeply by her mother and her devoted grandparents.

Desja attended Palm Beach County schools and proudly graduated from Glades Central Community High School in 2015. She went on to serve as a youth mentor with Lutheran Services, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of the young girls she guided, as well as the staff she worked alongside.

On March 23, 2026, our beautiful baby girl peacefully laid down to sleep and transitioned from this earthly life.

Desja had a bold spirit—strong like a pitbull, yet sweet as honey. She spoke her mind without hesitation, stood firm in what she believed, and fiercely protected those she loved, especially her mother. Though she stood just 5'3", her presence was powerful—like a giant with a mighty bark if ever tested.

She carried an infectious smile that could light up any room. Desja never met a stranger—she made friends wherever she went. Those closest to her would lovingly say she was "spoiled," but that only reflected how deeply she was loved. Whether she was calling her mom or her granddad, she knew she always had someone in her corner. Her granddad, especially, was her go-to problem solver for anything and everything.

Known in her neighborhood as the "candy lady," Desja had a hustle about her. She sold snacks and meals, often turning simple moments into opportunities to give back. She would reward neighborhood kids with snacks for helping her with groceries or chores—and sometimes even paid in full plates of home-cooked food. Desja carried herself like a princess and truly believed she wasn't meant for taking out trash—and honestly, she made others believe it too.

She loved beauty and self-expression—doing her makeup, taking pictures, and capturing videos. Those memories now hold a deeper meaning, reminding us how precious and important every moment truly is.

Her loss leaves a pain that is indescribable. The grief is deep and far-reaching—not just for her immediate family, but for everyone whose life she touched. Desja was truly loved, adored, and cherished by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted mother, Tomika Mitchell; her nurturing grandparents, Mildred Singleton and Willie Singleton; honorary father, Marvin Jones; paternal grandmother, Catherine Dixon; bonus grandmother, Inez Hall; and great-grandmother, Agnes Clark.

She also leaves behind her beloved godson, A'Mahzi Sider; four brothers, Javian Moore, Jaheim Brown, Voncie Lee Moore III, and Von'kevious Moore; bonus brother/cousin, Jalen Dunkley; and two sisters, Vondasia Moore and Vonzell Moore.

She is also survived by her aunts, Nicole Singleton, Sherrita Singleton, Veronica Cosby, and Dumekia Freeman; uncles, Lorenzo Felton, Michael Mitchell, Shelby Robinson, Dumas Parson, Deaundre Moore, Antonio Campbell, and Voncie Evans; special cousins, Shandreka Horne, Claranye Robinson, Kalup Horne, Vonna Chastine, and Christopher Felton; and special friends, Alexiya Ray, Ayana McCoy, Kendra Jackson and Alaja Key—along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
