Derrick affectionally known as Rodney was born on October 16, 1979, as a beautiful bundle of joy to the late Ronald Stephens and Linda Summerall in Belle Glade, Florida.

Derrick received his education at varies schools of Palm Beach County; he attended Pahokee High School. Also, a graduate of Glades Central High School class of 1997. He furthered his education by attending Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. His professionalism as a School Teacher and a Mental Health Technician were his passion for education.

Derrick Summerall untimely death on this earth; he was called home to be with Our Lord and Savior. The Angels whispered, Derrick My dear child "Come to our Heavenly Home where there's no more weariness and pain so take your rest," and he peacefully transitioned from this life. He fought a courageous battle and on October 17, 2022, the Lord called his precious child for eternal rest.

Derrick, A man of love and compassion was cherished by his family and friends everyone that knew him knows he had a passion for Basketball. He was very loving, caring, respectful and understanding young man in which he made an impact on their lives in a positive way. Derrick will be truly missed by all his loved ones and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents, Freeman and Gladys Cross-Ford, Aunts & Uncles: Corine Hughes, Melva Webb, John Henry Ford Sr., Tye Cobb Ford, Willie Mae Mincey and Mary Alice Ford.

Unforgettable memories shall remain in the hearts of his children and family. One Son: Kobe Summerall of Atlanta, Georgia; Two Daughters: Ja'niya Monae and Da'Jiah I'mon Summerall of Belle Glade, FL; Two Stepdaughters: Brittany Amari Gamble of Atlanta, Georgia, Briana Dorsey of Marietta, Georgia; One: Brother: Jesse (Tequesta) Summerall of Orlando, FL; Four Sisters: Courtnei Johnson of Tampa, FL, Cheryl (Johnny) Inman of Belle Glade, FL, Shauna Stephens of Miami, FL, Keishaylla Stephens of West Palm Beach, FL; One Granddaughter: Kylee J' Dore Allen of Belle Glade, FL; His Stepfather: Stanley Johnson of South Bay, FL; Four loving and devoted cousins reared as his brothers: Nathaniel Webb Jr. of Port. St. Lucie, FL, Jamal Ford of Belle Glade, FL, Jerry Campbell Jr. of Tampa, FL, and Davy Ford Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; Three Special friends: Renee Gamble of Atlanta, Georgia, Emmanuel Jones of Belle Glade, FL, Sharee Skyes of Belle Glade, FL; One Loving Friend: Tracy Labate of Atlanta, Georgia and A Host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins and loving friends.
