On March 11, 1965 Cortez Solomon was to Lucille and James Solomon in Douglas, Georgia. At 5 years of age, Cortez was cared for and raised by his adoptive parents, Mertis, whom he respectfully called "Mama" and Henderson Williams of (Raderville) Belle Glade, Florida.

At a young age he united with Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ. He attended school in Palm Beach County. Cortez was a farm worker and was very talented in various skills.

On Saturday, July 25, 2015 Cortez passed into the great beyond to be with the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Cortez was the father of five children who he loved very much, Jermira Nero of Ellereo, SC, Courtney Solomon of Dothan, AL, Teznisha Solomon of Bainbridge, GA, Thedrick Blount, Solomon Blount of Marianna, FL; five grandchildren; brothers: Anthony Solomon of Ray City, GA, Henry L. McCutter of Pahokee, FL; aunts: Louis of GA, Dorothy Miles of Jacksonville, FL, Ernestine Williams of Melbourne, FL, Rose Stanton of Long Branch, NJ; one uncle: Ernest Williams, Jr. of Melbourne, FL; three god-sisters: Betty Crawford of Belle Glade, FL, Evelyn Littles of NC, Dorothy Ramsey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
