The steps of a good man are ordered
by the Lord…~Psalm 37:23
On November 20th, 2018 Cleveland Knowles quietly departed this life to return unto his maker….
Cleveland Alphonsa Knowles Sr., the eldest son of 17 siblings, of Percy Knowles and Hilda Miller. Cleveland was born on August 18th, 1932, on Long Island in the Bahamas. He attended and graduated from Palm Beach Adult Institute on June 3rd, 1966.
At a young age Cleveland understood the importance of being a man and what it took to care for a family. Cleveland was joined and forever United in Holy Matrimony to Mary Louise Singleton in 1956, who preceded him in death. This Union was blessed with nine children.
Cleveland was a man of integrity, which he had no need to boast of or brag about. For 29 years Cleveland worked as a faithful, dedicated, leader for Rinker Materials Corporation. He served as an Ordained Deacon under Reverend Clifford Davis at Wesleyan Community Holiness Church.
Cleveland was a very proud man, an amiable father, and compassionate grandfather. His life will forever be honored by the lives of his children and family. He leaves to cherish his memories, Michael Knowles Sr. (Sharon), Gloria Legette (George), Cleveland Knowles Jr. (Carolyn), Lue Ellen Bryant (Willie), and Percy Knowles. Also preceding him in death are Charles Lee Singleton, Hilda Ford, and Lillian Knowles. Cleveland leaves 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 sisters (3 preceded him in death) 9 brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and acquiesces. Cleveland truly will be missed..
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the
body, and to be present with the Lord.
~II Corinthians 5:6-8
