Cinderella Wellington (nee Farquharson) was born in Grosmond, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica on April 11, 1942 to Hezekiah Farquharson and Moriah Powell. As a young girl, she attended Braes River Primary School. Dearis, the nickname given to her by her beloved father, was the name that those closest to her came to know her by over the years. The youngest of five children and only daughter of Moriah, she often reflected on the days of her youth and how she always found herself running behind her older brothers and getting into mischief. These stories were usually about her and her brother Clifton whom she followed. Even in the last days of her life, she would speak his name in her sleep. They had the strongest bond of all the siblings.

At the age of 18, Dearis ventured to the nation's capital of Kingston, Jamaica to seek employment. She acquired employment as a domestic worker and worked for several families over the years. Some years later, she settled in the parish of Clarendon and lived with her older brother Roland Stewart. While in Clarendon, she met a young man by the name of Adolph Wellington. In May of 1975, Adolph and Dearis wed and started a life together as husband and wife. During this time, Adolph eventually began traveling to and from the United States for seasonal employment as a farm worker. In 1979, Adolph's sister Eutilda, petitioned for both her brother and his wife to migrate to the United States. Shortly after arrival to the United States, Dearis and Adolph acquired employment as migrant farm workers working up and down the East Coast. Eventually they settled in Belle Glade, FL where Dearis worked in local retail stores as a sales associate. In June of 1981, the couple had a baby girl whom they named Stacey-ann. A few years later the couple relocated to Clewiston, FL and remained there until 1988. The family then found themselves back in Belle Glade in June 1988. Dearis began her walk with Christ as her savior in the early nineties while attending Royal Palm Beach Church of God. In the late 1990s she took membership at Glorious Community Holiness Church in Clewiston,FL. Dearis always gave honor and praise to the Lord with each available opportunity. During her years spent in the Glades area (Clewiston, Belle Glade, South Bay and Pahokee), she made a countless number of friends.

Over the years, she was employed in several jobs in the service industry. Her last position of employment was with the School District of Palm Beach County where she worked as a school bus attendant, until retirement in 2006.

Cinderella's health slowly declined over the years, and in 2020 she began living with Stacey. She loved her independence more than anything else, so the move was not something that she relished in, but eventually she came to understand it was in her best interest. She was a doting grandmother and this move allowed her to have more time with Gavin, her only grandchild. While with her daughter, Cinderella also formed a close relationship with her son-in-law, Omar.

Cinderella "Dearis" Wellington was called home to glory on the afternoon of March 27, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents Moriah & Hezekiah, and brothers Beris, Leon, and Roland. She is survived by her daughter Stacey-ann Henry (nee Wellington); and brother Clifton Stewart, along with a host of relatives and friends. May her soul rest in peace, she will be dearly missed.
