Charles H. Shepherd was born on April 20, 1955, in Golden Ridge, St. George, Barbados, to the late Enid Shepherd and Clayton Shepherd.
Charles was the foundation and "root" of his family. He found great joy in cooking for his loved ones and cherished every opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed providing lawn care services and offering his labor to help others throughout the community.
Charles came to the United States and married the love of his life Mary L. Willis on Feb .14th 1980. Charles started working at Atlantic Sugar Mill October 22, 1983 til October 10, 2003. He began employee with the City of Belle Glade, November 8, 2006 as a Maintenance Technician before retiring December 29, 2017.
Known for his generous spirit and compassionate heart, Charles was always willing to lend a helping hand, no matter the time of day or the circumstance. He consistently showed up for his family, friends, and neighbors, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him through his kindness, dependability, and unwavering love.
On June 18, 2026 Charles entered eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Willis.
Charles leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving children: Charlette Boyce, Joyce Boyce, Lisa Boyce (Barbados), Charvette Shepherd, Charlene Shepherd, Calvin Key (Shaneatria), Tippy Willis (Vinquesha), and Jeffery Willis; his sister-in-law, Mary Fields; grandchildren: Calvontay Key, Davonte Tanskley, Calvonshay Key, Ca'Niya Key, Ca'Tavais Key, Tippy Willis Jr., Ro'zavian Metayer, T'Laziah Willis, Maharai Jordan, and T'Asia Willis; one great-grandchild, Cali Key; two nieces, Donkera Burgess and Doneisha Burgess; nephews, Donald Burgess; and Terrance Fashaw; his Godchildren, Quintella Epps and Ricarla Adams; along with a host of other loving relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
