Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.


Cathy was born on August 19, 1958 to Oskar Downer and the late Jessie Lee Downer in Clewiston, Florida. She lived her childhood years in Belle Glade, Florida where she graduated from Glades Central High School. She attended and graduated from Vocational School as a Certified Nursing Assistant. After graduation she relocated to Pahokee Florida.

Following in her uncle's footsteps. Cathy develop a true love for fishing. She would say "teach a man how to fish he will never go hungry". She meet many people and made many friends while fishing all over the State of Florida. She was an awesome and skilled fisherwoman. April 24th, 2016 she casted her pole for one last time, catching 38 Mullets while complaining that she did not feel well but every time she catch a fish she stated she got strength.

On August 12, 2016 at 7:30pm after 3 years of fighting cancer she was called home. Cathy lived a life she loved and a life that she was proud of. Cathy found the good in all people and had an unconditional love for her children and family. She will be missed.

Cathy leaves us to join her mother Jessie Lee, sister Mathlean, aunt Rovenia, uncle Brown Hat, and favorite cousin James Albert.
