Burley Adams Jr., affectionately known as JB, was born on August 10, 1940 to the late Burley and Corine Adams (Martin), in Elloree, SC. On the morning of May 23, 2024, he entered the golden gates to be with his Lord and Savior.
At an early age, Burley attended Union A.M.E. Church in Elloree, South Carolina. He later became a faithful member of Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Belle Glade, Florida. Burley was employed over 40 years as a welder at Okeelanta. He retired from Okeelanta in 2005. He also was a proud member of the Sons of Allen and as a Master Mason with Okeechobee Lodge #54.
On August 14, 1979, Burley and his bride, Mary embarked on a blessed and loving journey as husband and wife. Their love has been a display of God's everlasting love for all those who have been in their presence.
Burley was preceded in death by his parents Burley and Corine, brothers Tony, Hilliard and Roy Lee Adams, sister Rosetta Elmontis, son Daniel Adams, and granddaughter Jolanda Adams.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife: Mary Frances Adams; son: Dr. Harvey Bee (Veronica); Daughter: Shanell Sheard; sisters: Louise Gary and Dorothy Adams Hammond of Belle Glade, FL, Julia (Curtis) Randolph and Betty (Bernard) Anderson of Orangeburg, SC, Cynthia Garrett of Orangeburg, SC and Yannqui Adams of Elloree, SC; Aunt: Mildred Sweat of Elloree, SC; Grandchildren: Jade Phillips (Glenn), Jacara Dukes (Johnathan), Kenneth Adams (Marsha), Maya Gould-Adams, Myshon Singleton (Toi), Carlos Bee Sr., Jarius Bee, and Mira Wilkins (Elliot); Special Loved Ones: Shalanda O'Neal, Ava O'Neal, Tequilla Spencer (Kelvin), Kayla O'Neal, Erica Ellison, Quiya Ross, Regina Knowles-Brown, Ricardo Adams, RJ Adams, Brian Mincey, the Peete/Mincey family, Nancy Martinez, Betty and Maceo Golson, the Singleton/Monroe family, Betty Bernard, Willie Butts and Family, and the Jones Family. Burley also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great-grand nieces, great-grand nephews, neighbors, and friends to remember him and his legacy.
