Burder Mae Addie

Burder Mae Addie was born on September 2, 1933, in Cordele, Georgia, to the late Mr. Eleazar Jones, Sr. and Mrs. Addie Lou Jones. After 92 years of life, love, and devotion to her family, she passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Burder Mae came from a long, proud line of women whose strength shaped the foundation of her life and the generations that followed. She was the daughter of Addie Lou Jones, granddaughter of Adaline Vance Daniel, and great-granddaughter of Rose Stokely Vance—a lineage of matriarchs whose wisdom and endurance continue through her descendants.

In her early adulthood, she and her husband, Mr. Samuel Addie, Sr., moved from Georgia to Pahokee, Florida, in 1964, seeking a better life and new opportunities for their growing family. They first settled in Pelican Lake, where they lived for 14 years, before moving to Fremd Village in 1978. There, Burder Mae became a staple of the community—one of its longest-living and most cherished residents—remaining in Fremd Village for the rest of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Eleazar Jones, Sr. and Mrs. Addie Lou Jones; her beloved husband, Mr. Samuel Addie, Sr.; her sons William and McCharles Addie; and her siblings Willie Jones, Eleazar Jones, Jr., David Jones, Howard Jones, and Clara Royal.

She leaves to honor her memory her siblings: Mattie Williams, Addie Jones, Irvin Jones, George Jones, Susie Thomas, and Arthur Jones.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Samuel Addie, Jr., and his wife Cynthia Addie, Bernice Addie, Carl Addie, Sylvia Hall, and her husband William Hall, Allene Addie. Burder Mae is also remembered by her daughter-in-law, Mary Addie.

Her legacy continues through 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, and friends who were touched by her enduring love, strength, and spirit.

We also wish to acknowledge her cherished cousin, Rosa Lovette, with whom she shared a special bond. Their relationship was marked by friendship as deep as kinship and a lifelong closeness that enriched both their lives.
