Bobby Clyburn was born December 9, 1949, to (late) Betty Sue Clyburn and (late) Flint Clark in Lancaster, South Carolina. He attended Lafayette High School class of 1968. Bobby moved to Rochester, New York in 1971 and worked as an advocate for youth at Industry State School for Boys until 1973. He worked as a correction officer at Attica Correctional Facility from 1975 to 1978. In 1981, Bobby worked as a security guard at Central Park Plaza. From 1981 to 1983, Bobby worked at Americorp as a team leader in Buffalo, New York. Later, Bobby transferred to Americore in San Francisco, California where he continued to work as a team lead from 1983 to 1984. Bobby moved back to Buffalo, New York in 1985 and worked for People Inc. In 1986, Bobby worked at Albany Group Home for Boys for one year. Bobby then worked for Eckerd Youth Alternatives in Okeechobee Florida. It was at this time that he first met Jessie Mae Clyburn.  Bobby went on to work as a group home worker in Schenectady, New York from 1991 to 1997. Bobby would then drive from Buffalo, New York to San Francisco, California to return to work for Americorp from 2001 to 2012, when he retired. Following retirement, Bobby returned to Buffalo, New York .

Bobby became reacquainted with Jessie Mae in 2015. Bobby returned to Okeechobee to pursue his relationship with Jessie Mae. He also joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Bobby and Jessie Mae were later married at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in 2016. While it is obvious that Bobby dedicated his life to working with the youth. Bobby also dedicated his life to the church. Throughout his travels, Bobby still maintained his relationship with God and would participate in church services. While in California, Bobby served as a Deacon. He became a Deacon on 9/2/2004. In his free time Bobby enjoyed playing dominoes and pool. Bobby was a skilled pool player and played in pool leagues. Bobby often played in pool tournaments where he was often victorious. Bobby was well known for his skills at playing pool.

Bobby was preceded in death by parents Betty Sue Clyburn and Flint Clark; grandsons: Lenard Clark Dabney Jr. and Isaiah Clyburn; brother: Willie Otis Cylburn.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife Jessie Mae Clyburn; his brother: Frankie "Robert" Clyburn (Juith); his children: Yolanda Clark, Stephanie Dabney, Bobby Clyburn, Will Gosier, Adrian Clyburn, Deborah Russell (Michael), Sonya Washington-Berefo (Ernest), Shannon Washington (Dawn) Dorris Rowe, Trevor Rowe, Jr. (Hanaiya), Lakesha Robinson, Tynesha Robinson, Mercedes Robinson, Christal Robinson, Ebony Robinson and Isaiah Robinson; and host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends whom he loved dearly.
