A Time to be Born: Bishop Bud Mickins Jr. was born on November 21, 1947 in Pahokee, Florida to Bud Mickins Sr, and Mozetta Mickins.

Legacy: Bishop Mickins was educated at East Lake High School ("Hawks") where he earned his high school diploma.  After high school he worked at various jobs, mainly earning a living for his family as a truck driver.  Bishop Mickins always strived for excellence in life and later enrolled at Florida Memorial College and earned a BA degree in Business Administration. He used that degree to span a 25 year career as a Case Manager for the Comprehensive AIDS program.

Bishop Mickins dedicated his life to the Lord in February 1976. After being
converted, he joined the Pahokee Church of God as a Deacon. He drove the
Sunday School van, was the Youth Pastor, and was the Youth CE Director
over the Palm Beach District. Bishop Mickins went through the MIP
program, received his Exhorter's license, became a licensed minister and later
an Ordained Administrative Bishop (1993).

He held a secular job as well as pastored churches that he was appointed to in
Hobe Sound, Immokalee, Clewiston and Indiantown before being appointed
Pastor at Pahokee Church of God by Bishop Quan Miller. Bishop Mickins
served under many State Overseers and served on the State Council with
Bishop Quan Miller, Bishop Jonathan Ramsey, Bishop Thomas Chenault,
Bishop Doyle Scott, Bishop Dwayne Solomon, and Bishop Anthony T. Pelt.
He received numerous awards from the Church of God Organization

Bishop Mickins was a father, leader, Pastor, Sheppard of our souls, friend, counselor and much more.

A Time to Embrace: On September 3, 2021 God returned to claim his worker in the vineyard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Mozetta Mickins, one brother; Eckard Lee Foster, and one sister Mozetta Allen.

He leaves to continue his legacy and cherish his memories his wife; Ella Mae Mickins. Three dedicated and loving children; Reginald Mickins (Kisha Mickins) of Chula, Georgia; Craig Mickins of Augusta, Georgia; and Shauna Mickins of Pahokee, FL.  Two sisters, Dorothy Wimberly (Johnnie Will Wimberly) Riviera Beach, FL., Leslie Mae Woodfolk of West Palm Beach, FL., and one brother-in-law Frank D. Wallace (Reverend Patricia Wallace) Pahokee, FL. He will be remembered by his seven loving grandchildren and three great-grands.  Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, congregants, friends and associates.
