Beverly L. Tate White
A beautiful babygirl was born on June 3, 1959 to the late Mary Catherine Grant Tate and Leslie Thompson, Sr. She was raised in Sandcut, Florida, and later made her home in Pahokee, where she attended Pahokee high school, and was apart of the Class of 1977. At an early age, Beverly accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she nurtured her faith.
Beverly later moved to Virginia, where she met and married Walter White.
Beverly had a passion for nurturing young minds and dedicated her career to serving as a preschool teacher. She was known for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her kindness, strength, and faith left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to have known her.
Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter White; her beloved mother, Mary Catherine Grant Tate; her father, Leslie Thompson Sr.; her Grandparents, Alberta & Willie Brinson; her sisters, Jacqueline Tate Charles and Catherine Denise Tate; her brother, Leslie Thompson Jr.; her aunt, Mary Ann Kinsler; and her dear friend, Sharon Powell.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her 2 children, Johnny Rutledge (Shirley) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Sapphiran Rudgles of Columbus, Georgia. She also leaves her siblings, Lorenzo Tate (Teresa) of Bainbridge, Georgia; Valerie Maddox of Pompano Beach, Fl; Thelma Maddox (Lamarcus) of Pahokee, Fl; Carlyle Nelson of Pahokee, Fl; William Thompson and Demetrius Thompson of Pahoee, Fl. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Sasha Rudgles White, Sade Rudgles, Skylar Sinclair, and Jaylyn Rutledge. She was also a loving aunt to Marvin Coley, Alfred Wimberley, Dealex Martin, Farnessa Tate, Demetrius Tate, Malik Tate, Jasmine Tate, Kawanna Williams, Nysheka Tate, Jacoby Tate, Alexis Golphin, Dominick Ajayi-Akinpelu, Leon Benjamin, and Kamaria Williams. A loving bonus mom, Janie Frazier. A god sister, Angela Mitchell. A best friend, Beverly Brinkley Lee. A Great niece, Raquel Perkins. She was also a cherished member of the "Valley Girls," where she shared many meaningful memories and lasting friendships with Gwen Williams, Sandra Jones, and Ollie Smith. She also leaves behind a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and many dear friends who will forever cherish the love, wisdom, and memories she shared.
Beverly's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and service. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
