Betty Lou Pope born March 16, 1944, in Crawford, Mississippi to the late Elarge Pope Sr. and Precillia Pope.

In 1963 Betty moved to Clewiston, Florida. She attended Harlem Academy School graduating with the class of 1963. Betty met and married the late N.F. Lowery Sr.

Betty was employed as a chef at Robbie's Restaurant for many years, Patrick's Restaurant before going back to school earning her C.N.A. license. She gave her life to God at a young age. She was a member of Gospel Light House Church under the leadership of Pastor Versie Mae Tramell.

To Know Her: Mrs. Betty Lou Pope touched many lives in the community. She was a person of truth and didn't indulge in foolishness. She said what she said and meant what she said. Betty loved her flowers in her yard, shopping, and her family.

On September 13, 2023, surrounded by love Mrs. Betty Lou Pope answered the Master's call. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Brenda Joyner, brothers: Booker T. Sherrod, James Pope, and Nathaniel Pope.

Betty leaves unforgettable memories with her children: Lucinda Stallworth, Devon Edwards (M.C.), N.F. Lowery Jr., Lawanda Williams (Victor), Beatrice Smith (Tony), Lemorris Lowery, Arthur Lowery, Tyrone Lowery, Renee Robinson, Nicole Lowery; sisters: Winnie Everett (Johnnie), Vera Broughton (James); one brother: Elarge Pope Jr. (Linda); special aunts: Marie Gran, Leathia Gray; uncles: Willie Lee, Mike Gray, Lee Gray; sister-in-law: Debra Pope; 50 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; two godsons: Chris Hardy, Robert Weekley; favorite cousin: Shirley Harris; her friend: Everlena Robinson, prayer partner-sister: Shari Troutman, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
