Mother Annie Clyde Jackson-Edwards

Annie Clyde Jackson was born November 25, 1932, in Georgetown, Georgia to the late Floyd
Jackson and the late Lela Thornton. She was educated in the public schools in Clay County Georgia.
Annie left Georgia as a young adult coming to Florida making South Florida her home.
She was married to Emmitt Simms until his death and later she married McDuffy Edwards who also
preceded her in death. Annie was the proud mother of 11 children. Despite her large family she made
time for every one of them. She always provided support and love for her family. Her house was like
"the go-to-house" for her children and their friends, because she always had a fresh baked pie, cake
or a good old homecooked meal. Food was always plentiful in her house. No one never went hungry
under her watch. She loved people and loved doing whatever she could to help in any situation. Not
only did she raise her children, but she also raised some of her grands and great grands.
She was employed for many years as a Café cook and server, and with US Sugar as a housekeeper.
After retirement she volunteered as a Grandparent at different area schools with The School District
of Palm Beach County.

In the 1970's Mother Edwards joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Harbor under the
leadership of the late Rev. Aaron Drayton where she served the Lord well as an Usher, a doorkeeper
in the house of God. She later united with Miracle By Faith in South Bay under the leadership of the
late Bishop Berry Humphrey. Due to her illness and the need for assistance, she started attending
Covenant Community Church with her children in South Bay, under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth
Jackson. Mother loved the Lord with all her heart, and she diligently worked untiringly for the
upbuilding of God's kingdom.

Not only was she an exceptional cook and baker, but she was a master fisherwoman. Give her a pole
and a pond and she'll bring home the fish, you cleaned, she cooked, then we all eat. Grandma was
very fond of the social gatherings with family and friends. She was always the life of the gatherings!
At our last family social gathering (one week before her earthly transition) Grandma said to her family,
"Don't worry about me, I'm going to be okay." She was a jokester, she was very outspoken, and she
willingly shared her wisdom and knowledge. She was a people's person, and a friend to all!
Early Saturday morning, November 13, 2021, Mother Annie Clyde heard the voice of Jesus and
accepted his call as he whispered sweetly in her ear saying: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and
are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Preceding her in death: a daughter, Carolyn Terrell; a son,
Emmitt Simms, Jr.; sisters, Barbara King and Mae Hodges; brothers, Robert Jackson, Eugene
Harrison and BJ Thornton; and grandsons, Octavius Simpson and Joseph Abrams.

FL, and Marion (Laxton) Henry of South Bay FL; Siblings: Wilbert (Deborah) Harrison, Norman (Mae)
Harrison and Odexter (Lafranze) Freeman; Sister-in-law: Josephine Harrison; Special friends: Mary
Ford James, Ada Willingham and Melva Williams; Special daughter: Tyeka Maraj; godson: Theodore
Green and Joe Jackson; Mother Edwards had a total of 11 kids, 33 grandkids, 96 great grandkids and
6 great, great grandkids totaling 146; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, extended
family, other loved ones and friends.
