Obituary

Abner McWilliams Sr. affectionately known as "Shorty" was born to the late Jerry and Mary McWilliams on June 29, 1942 in Braggs, Alabama. In 1961, Abner McWilliams Sr. met a lovely woman named Jesse Mae Moorer in Braggs, Alabama; who then became his soul-mate for life in 1962 where they married in Lowndes County, Alabama. After marrying they both migrated to a small town called Pahokee, Florida where they resided 2 miles west in "Pelican Lake Village" til 2001. He was a member of Pahokee Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Bud Mickens. He worked for United States Sugar Corporation for 42 years until he retired. Preceding him in death was his brother Lorenza McWilliams Sr "Bud".

He leaves to mourn:

His loving and devoted wife of 54 years "Jessie Mae McWilliams" .

Five brothers: Stanley McWilliams (JoAnn), Willie McWilliams, Jerry Lee McWilliams, Sammie McWilliams (Tracey), and Willie Ed McWilliams (Pooky): all residing in Braggs Alabama. Four sisters: Jesse Hardy, Bernice (Willie) Brown, Bessie Crenshaw, and Martha Allen also residing in Braggs Alabama. Six children: Fannie, Shirley, Brenda, of Pahokee Fl., Amy, Anita (Conroy), and Abner Jr. of West Palm Beach. Seventeen Grandchildren , Seventeen Great Grandchildren , and a host of devoted Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, and friends.
